Daydream on the Seine

We arrived in Paris on September 1, just a few days after the church bells rang out across the world to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the March on Washington. We took a walk down by the Seine. People were picnicking along the banks. A group of musicians were playing. There was a spare guitar, so…. As I started to play, Paul Sinclair, whom I’d never met, began to film. We ended up joining his picnic and met Ealy Mays, a wonderful artist who had been on The Mall that day in 1963 as a little kid. It was a pretty special moment at the beginning of a wonderful time in France. It felt great to sing this song that day. Baptiste is other guitar player. His music is wonderful. (The sound on the video starts off a little windblown, but it gets better and you can feel the sweetness.)
